Nelson & Associates Family Dentistry

I've been going to Dr. Nelson's office for over 15 years and every time I have been treated very well and all of my issues have been addressed. This passed time, I had my teeth cleaned by Ginger who was incredibly friendly and educated me on what she was doing, how I can improve my dental hygiene for the future, and some easy options to keep up with my dental health. Jessica is always very kind over the phone and great at reminding you when you're next appointment is. Thanks for being an awesome practice and turning something that most people dread into something that makes me feel good after.

Experienced, Professional, Honest, and is very critical of his own work assuring you will be happy with the results. Networked with other professionals locally in the event you need specialty work done. Genuinely enjoys being a dentist and treats patients like friends and family. If I sound overly patronizing in my review, its because I suffered through four previous dentists in the Metroplex prior to finding Dr. Nelson five years ago. My opinion is that the four prior may not have had the expertise or motivation to do great work every day. I literally paid the price with those prior dentists: Some insisted on doing unnecessary work (removing amalgam fillings that were never a problem), others kept having me raise my dental plan limit yearly and always managed to use it all, or performed failed procedures that lead to even more work at my cost within just a couple years (such as crowns and root canals). One prior dentist (she still practices in Allen) actually insisted she remove an amalgam filling which had not ever been a problem, making the filling hole larger, which then lead to a very thin tooth wall, causing it to crack, so then she had to place a crown on it, and she had such bad margins fitting the crown properly that it lead to the root becoming infected and requiring a root canal. ALL on a single tooth! And when she performed the root canal (Note, in my experience, most dentists do NOT also perform root canals, many recognize they may not have the expertise or are uncomfortable as they don't perform them daily and will refer you to a Endodontist), she completely missed the fact that my tooth actually had four roots, not three roots as most people have, and so she treated only three. I then researched and found Dr. Nelson, who then referred me to Dr. Field, a skillful Endodondist, who then corrected the failed root canal. OK, I'm venting, hopefully convincing you to save yourself a lot of grief, time, and financial burden by finding yourself a competent, experienced, trustworthy dentist like Dr. Nelson.
