Eastlake Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics
We have the latest state-of-the-art equipment to make sure your child has access to everything he or she needs at their dental visits. We constantly evaluate our materials and keep current with new technologies to make sure you have the best options available. We pride ourselves in practicing ethically and honestly, always taking the time to explain our findings.

We always consider all appropriate treatment options and try to present the most conservative plans, when possible. It is important for us to be helpful to our patients and answer any questions you might have regarding dental care. Starting early with prevention and good habits will help build a lifelong smile and relationship with your pediatric dentist.

Thank you for trusting us with one of the most joyful gifts a child has to offer, their smile! Our practice philosophy is about treating every child as if they were our own and developing a lasting relationship not only with the patient, but also the parent.

Whether we're discussing the basics with a two year old or reviewing the proper techniques for brushing and flossing with an eighteen year old before they head off to college, we focus our chair side manner on your child and getting to know them better at each visit.
Services
As your child's dental partner, we'll focus on every smile related detail.
Our goal is to make sure that every patient has healthy teeth, healthy gums, and healthy dental habits.
Dental care is important from the moment the first tooth emerges (usually between 6 and 12 months.).
It affects your child's development of healthy permanent teeth, a normal jaw, and the ability to speak and chew properly.
As more baby teeth and permanent teeth come in, good dental care remains just as crucial.
But it's not all about what happens in our office - we work with both kids and parents to help develop healthy habits that will (hopefully) last a lifetime.
Dr. Mark Macaoay was born in San Diego and has spent most of his life here.
He received a Navy Health Professions Scholarship in dental school and participated in pediatric outreach and organized dentistry during his time there.
He graduated with honors and then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego.
After completing his Navy commitment, Dr. Macaoay returned to his Alma mater as a clinical professor.
While teaching at the dental university, he practiced in a pediatric dental office where he discovered his passion for children's dental healthWhen Dr. Macaoay is not helping children achieve healthy smiles, you can find him reading, traveling, hiking, training for triathlons and spending quality time with his family.
Here at Eastlake Pediatric Dentistry, we've also set up our offices to make nervous kids comfortable during every visit - especially the first one.
Our unique, kidfriendly waiting rooms are filled with TV and video games to help children relax before going inside.
Spending a few extra minutes hanging out in a fun waiting room can be a perfect way to ensure a stressfree introduction.
We'd love to help give your child a great first impression of visiting the dentist.
Clear & Metal Braces: Braces are traditionally used to align teeth and correct a person's bite.
The earlier you introduce your child to the dentist, the more comfortable they'll be.
Often, an infant or toddler's first dental visit is simply a short icebreaker to establish the dentist's office as a safe, friendly location.
Taking the time to do this will make all your subsequent visits much less stressful.
Our expert staff knows just how nervewracking a first visit can be, especially if you're a new parent and their first tooth was a bit of a surprise - so they'll be there to walk you through every step.
As a pediatric dentist, Dr. Macaoay had an additional two years of specialized training beyond dental school.
Pediatric dentists are dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years.
The very young, pre-teens and teenagers all need different approaches in dealing with behavior, guiding their growth and development and helping them avoid future dental problems.
With their additional education, pediatric dentists have training that allows them to offer the most up-to-date and thorough treatment for a wide variety of pediatric dental problems.
