At Signature Orthodontics, we provide orthodontic care for both children and adults in a warm and caring atmosphere. In our practice, the orthodontic treatment we provide focuses on facial aesthetics or as it is more commonly known: beauty or attractiveness. For many people, an orthodontist will be the one professional they will see in their entire lives whose main focus will be to enhance their facial appearance.
Of course, that enhancement will also lead to improved self-confidence, better overall health, and increased self-esteem. We look forward to meeting you or your child and thank you for selecting us for your orthodontic care. During visits to our office, you will get to know every member of our caring and professional staff. Each member of our clinical team is a trained and skilled licensed Dental Assistant, a member of the Minnesota Association of Orthodontist and the American Association of Orthodontist.
Together with the extensive orthodontic training that Dr. Sydlewski received, she is also a trained medical doctor with four additional years of medical school education and six years of doctoral level education beyond what general dentists have.

There are many reasons a person may need orthodontic treatment.
Although having a more beautiful smile is always one outcome, there are many other extremely important reasons to get braces.
Correct tooth alignment is critical to healthy teeth, and good oral health is critical to our overall health.
Good oral health helps to prevent many diseases and allows us to enjoy a healthy diet and feel good about ourselves when we smile.
Gaps between the teeth allow food particles to more easily get stuck and can also cause abnormal jaw growth or gum recession.

The adhesive we use to secure the brackets to your teeth will dry very quickly but can take up to 24 hours to fully set.
It is fine to eat right after you leave our office.
However, we recommend that you stick with softer foods for the first few days as you get used to eating with your new braces.
Please avoid eating hard or sticky foods during your orthodontic treatment, and never chew on ice as it can damage both your teeth in addition to your braces.
Eating these foods can damage your braces, creating the need for additional appointments and potentially extending your overall treatment time.

When most people think about having braces, they assume that there will be many foods and activities that they will not be able to enjoy.
Well, have no fear because while getting braces can mean doing things a little differently for a while, it should not cause major changes in your day-to-day activities.
You will still be able to enjoy eating out, singing, playing a musical instrument or sport, or even having pictures taken.
We will be happy to answer any questions you may have about life with braces.
