Dr. Kathryn Frye was born and raised in Davidson County, the daughter of Dr. Sarah Frye and Chuck Frye.
She graduated from the University of Carolina at Chapel Hill, double majoring in biology and music with a minor in chemistry.
While a student at UNC, she continued to engage in her lifelong passion for horses as a member of the equestrian team, serving as captain her senior year.
Her music major gave her the opportunity to participate in the student opera productions, as well as Carolina Choir and Chamber Singers.
