Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Jillian Muhlbauer is excited to be joining the Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics team and the Annapolis community. She is committed to providing compassionate and quality care to each of her patients in a fun, safe, and engaging environment. Originally from Long Island, Dr. Muhlbauer earned a Bachelor of Science from Fairfield University and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

Following graduation, Dr. Muhlbauer completed her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family (especially her six nieces and nephews) and rooting for the NY Jets! Pediatric dentists are the pediatricians of dentistry. A pediatric dentist has two to three years specialty training following dental school and limits his/her practice to treating children only.

Pediatric dentists are primary and specialty oral care providers for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health needs.
Services
Remain calm and find the tooth.
Pick up the tooth by the crown (not the root) of the tooth.
If the tooth appears dirty you can briefly rinse it with water or some milk.
Re-implant the tooth, bite on a towel or a shirt to hold it in place and proceed to the dentist immediately.
As upsetting as this can be for both a child and parent, DO NOT re-implant the baby tooth.
The permanent teeth are developing and doing so can injure the permanent tooth.
Bite on a towel or gauze to allow the bleeding to stop and treat with over the counter pain medications.
As a parent, you want the best for your child.
That includes healthy teeth and a beautiful, vibrant smile.
The American Association for Orthodontists recommends that every child have an orthodontic evaluation by the age of 7. Early detection and treatment gives your child the edge - a much better chance for natural and normal dentofacial development.
One advantage of having the doctors at Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics for your child's dental home is that we monitor their growth & development from their very first appointment and on a regular basis allowing us the opportunity to recommend the appropriate treatment at the appropriate time.
While orthodontic treatment most often begins between the ages of 9 and 14, some children's orthodontic problems can benefit from earlier treatment.
If it appears that your child will need treatment at some point, our orthodontist, Dr. Bolton, will advise you the best time to begin and the best kind of "appliance" for your child's specific need.
While Dr. Bolton strives to perform orthodontics at one time, in one treatment - it may not be feasible or best for every child.
If early treatment is indicated, it is because the same results may not be possible once the face and jaws have finished growing.
It's not always easy to tell when you or your child has an orthodontic problem.
Even teeth that look straight may be hiding an unhealthy bite.
At Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics we evaluate and monitor the dental and skeletal development of our patients at every appointment to ensure if treatment is indicated it is initiated at the appropriate time for the appropriate reasons.
It's your turn now!
Whether you're 7 or 75, it's never too late to have the smile you've always wanted and Dr. Bolton can help you achieve it.
Regardless of age it's the same physiological process that moves teeth through bone.
Whether it's complicated or a cosmetic touch up, Dr. Bolton has myriad experience treating adult cases.
As an orthodontic specialist for over a decade treating both children and adults he has the education and expertise needed to manage all cases regardless of age or complexity.
