Oral Appliance Therapy (also called OAT and mouth appliance) may be the preferred treatment for the patients who snore and/or quit breathing as they sleep, officially called Sleep Apnea. A sleep consultation to get to know you and your health and sleep concerns, discuss different treatment options. If an oral appliance is an appropriate treatment, we document information about your teeth, gums, tongue, throat, jaw joint, and neck.

We then get impressions of your teeth and how your upper and lower jaws fit with each other. Your impressions are sent to a lab specializing in fabricating a comfortable, exact fitting, effective mouth appliance for treatment of your sleep breathing disorder. We will fit your oral appliance and review how to use clean and adjust your appliance to provide you with the maximum long-lasting effectiveness and comfort.

Once we achieve the best treatment possible, we will contact your primary care doctor, sleep doctor, and dentist about or progress and confirm with testing your successful treatment as they recommend.
