Sometimes, we can take our teeth for granted until we feel pain or a tooth gets loose or breaks, or until they're worn down.
Suddenly the function of our smile becomes more important the moment we bite into a favorite food and feel pain.
Inevitably this seems to happen at the most inopportune times.
At Monroe Family Dentistry, we focus on preventative dentistry, and are able to fix issues before they become bigger concerns.
There are so many options today for restoring function and beauty to a damaged smile.

Preventive hygiene appointments (every six months) elevate your and your family's oral health and total well-being and are the foundation of preventive care.
The perfect complement to twice-daily brushing and flossing, prophylaxis (also known as teeth cleanings) brightens your smile, prevents cavities, and detects potential issues-like tooth decay, gum disease, fractures, and oral cancer-in their earliest stages.
At each preventive appointment, a dental hygienist will carefully remove plaque buildup on and between your teeth to prevent tooth decay and gum disease.

Dr. Monroe has the knowledge and experience to restore or remake your smile.
From missing or discolored, chipped teeth to more procedure-intensive dental issues, Dr. Monroe can offer you a variety of options to remake your smile.
When the bacteria in your mouth feed on the particles of sugar and starch that remain in your mouth after eating, they produce an acidic byproduct that eats away tooth enamel.
Cavities form in the tooth enamel and, if left untreated, can harm the sensitive, innermost layers of the tooth (dentin and pulp).
