After years of dental fear and not so nice experiences it is a pleasure to come to a practice where I am comfortable beginning at the front desk always pleasant happy and courteous. The first time in 50 years I am not in a state of anxiety. We are excited to carry on the 40-year commitment to top quality dentistry and customer service that Quarryville and Southern Lancaster County residents have enjoyed.

Our top priority is to provide dental care that will last, and allow you to keep your teeth for life. We follow tried and true dental principles while adding new technology and materials.
Our goal is that people who become regular patients will need very little dental care once we have them fixed up. Keeping you comfortable is essential to good dental care. We want you to have a pleasant experience so that you are not anxious to return.

Flu season is back so of course I got sick.
Finding a health center that doesn't charge an obscene amount of money to be seen is always a struggle.
It was the closest, same-day appointment center I found on Yelp.
They take several types of insurance, including mine which only charged a $10 copay.
They even have their own app where you fill out your symptoms and payment information right there.
Once I arrived, all I had to worry about was not coughing on the doctor!
I got a prescription filled at the in-house pharmacy and was on my merry way about 30 minutes later.

Many people wonder if making it to their biannual dental appointment is really necessary.
The short answer is - yes! Good preventive care could help reduce your risk factors for certain illnesses and can simply help you achieve and maintain the level of excellent oral health that lets you look and feel your best.
Your biannual visit is a great opportunity to tell your dentist about any issues or discomfort you've been experiencing in your mouth.
You'll also want to give a detailed description of your medical history and come prepared with a list of all medications that you take.

Periodontal disease is a growing problem and one of the most common conditions we treat.
While good oral hygiene habits can help to prevent periodontal disease, it can still happen.
The earlier we catch it, the easier it will be to treat.
Periodontal disease, or gum disease, is caused by plaque that builds up on the teeth and especially under the gumline.
The sticky plaque attracts bacteria and eventually turns into hard tartar.
The tartar and bacteria irritate the gums and cause infection.
Brushing twice daily and flossing every evening using good technique will help to remove a lot of plaque, but even the most diligent brusher and flosser may have a hard time cleaning off all the plaque, especially the plaque that hides under the gumline.
