Services
Dr. Zachary Ellis grew up in Abilene, TX.
He attended college at Texas A&M and earned a degree in Finance while taking prerequisite classes for dental school.
He then spent four years at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio where he earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery.
Afterwards, he attended a one-year residency at the VA hospital in Temple, TX, and there acquired a certificate of Advanced Education in General Dentistry.
Dr. Zach worked as a general dentist for a short time before being accepted into the UT Dental School Pediatric Residency in Laredo, TX.
A child's first visit to the dentist should be enjoyable.
Children are not born with a natural fear of the dentist, but they can fear the unknown.
Our office makes a special effort to use pleasant, non-frightening, simple words to describe each treatment.
We want you and your child to feel at ease from the moment your family arrives at our office.
Children should visit the dentist by their first birthday.
It is important that your child's newly erupted teeth (erupting at six to 12 months of age) receive proper dental care and benefit from proper oral hygiene habits right from the beginning.
Dr. Matthew Carraway was born in Del Rio, Texas, and considers San Antonio to be his home.
He attended the University of Texas at San Antonio as an undergraduate in Biology and was accepted early into dental school.
His Doctorate of Dental Surgery was awarded by UT Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Following dental school, Dr. Matt completed a Certificate in Advanced General Dentistry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
Returning to UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, he spent two years in a rigorous Pediatric Dentistry Residency and earned his Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry.
At Basin Pediatric Dentistry, we are dedicated to providing each child with painless, nurturing, and laugher-filled visits, caring for their welfare and health as we would our own family!
For Dr. Zach Ellis, Dr. Kelcey Parrott, Dr. Matt Carraway, and our team, nothing is more important than earning your child's trust.
We are kind, compassionate, supremely patient, and excel at easing an anxious little one's nerves.
Knowing that unfamiliar spaces can heighten a child's worry, we use kid-friendly terms and a show-tell-do approach, only proceeding when the child is ready.
Our practice is committed to providing you and your family with safe, gentle, high-quality dental care.
We understand that your child may feel anxious about visiting the dentist.
We are sensitive to children's needs and it is our goal to make your child feel comfortable visiting our practice while providing the best care possible.
During your child's first visit, we will review their dental and medical history forms, and take X-rays of their teeth and mouth.
Then, the doctor will meet with you and your child to discuss the X-rays, help create an individual treatment plan, and answer any questions that you may have.
