He received his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley before he attended the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, graduating in 1983.

In addition to being a member of the ADA, CDA, and the local chapter of the SACDS, Dr. Louie has been a member of the Niles Rotary Club for over 30 years and has been awarded "Best Dentist" from 2010 to present.
