Services
A smile stays healthy with routine checkups.
We provide complete exams to our patients and suggest making an appointment for cleaning every six months.
Regular checkups allow our staff to examine and determine the best solutions for optimizing the patient's dental health.
During first visits, we look over medical history and give our new patients a traditional exam that will help us evaluate the condition of their teeth and gums.
We also take digital x-rays, which lets our doctors survey the structure of our patients' jaws and teeth positioning.
I have been a patient of Dr. Jewell's for approximately 12 years.
I came to know Dr. Jewell during a transitional period in my life when I needed dental care.
He graciously accepted me as a new patient immediately and demonstrated his caring spirit.
Just wanted to say to everyone out there in Wilmington, NC if you ever in need of a dentist or a looking to change your dentist, please try Dr. Jewell and his staff.
We have been going to their practice for about 8 years and have never met a more thoughtful, professional, thorough and all-around nice man as Dr. Wilson Jewell is.
Complete dentures are used when all teeth are missing from a patient's mouth.
There are two types of complete dentures: conventional and immediate.
Conventional dentures are made when the remaining teeth are taken out and after the gums have healed.
Healing takes about two to three months.
Immediate dentures are created ahead of time and can be used by the patient while their gums are healing.
Immediate dentures are only a temporary solution.
They should only be worn until conventional dentures are made.
Dental implants are artificial replacements for your natural tooth roots.
They attach firmly into the gum and jawbone, and are fitted with a crown that looks, feels and functions like a natural tooth.
Dental implants can also be used to anchor partial and full dentures using precision attachments.
Rather than resting on the gum line like removable dentures, or using adjacent teeth as anchors like fixed bridges, dental implants are long-term replacements.
They never have to be removed for cleaning and are attached without adhesives.
Also called dental veneers, a porcelain veneer is a custom-made, new front surface for your tooth that is extremely durable and resembles the natural color of your teeth.
A veneer can be used to align crowding or protruding teeth, and close gaps between your teeth.
Because they cover the surface of a tooth, they are made to change the appearance of the tooth they are covering such as the shape, length, size and color.
Porcelain veneers are a great solution for those who want to change the appearance of their teeth.
