A root canal is treatment is necessary when the pulp (soft tissue inside your teeth containing blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue) becomes inflamed or diseased.
Root canal therapy is removing the diseased pulp.
Then the dentist or endodontist(a dentist who specializes in treating the insides of teeth) cleans the pulp chamber and root(s) of the tooth are then cleaned and sealed.
If the infected pulp is not removed, pain, swelling and infection can occur and your tooth may have to be removed.
This is the inflammation of your gum tissue and can be the early stage of periodontal disease.
Symptoms include redness, bleeding, tenderness and swollen gums.
Everyone at some point of their lives has had gingivitis.
It is caused by plaque (bacteria) irritating your tissue if it is not properly removed by proper tooth brushing, flossing daily and not keeping up with hygiene appointments.
It does NOT affect your bone and ligaments that support your teeth.
Good home care and routine visits are essential to keeping your gums healthy.
Cover and support a tooth with a large filling already present when there isn't a whole lot of natural tooth structure left (to prevent it from breaking in the future).
The process of a crown is two visits.
The first visit is the preparation, which includes taking an impression for the lab.
You will leave with a temporary crown this visit so you are still able to chew and for cosmetic reasons.
The lab in turn makes your permanent crown, which can be a PFM (porcelain fused to metal) or an all porcelain crown.
One of the best options is Dental Implants.
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is surgically secured into the jawbone.
We do not place them at our office.
We do not do the surgical portion at our office we will set up an appointment with ou referring dentist who places the Implant/Implants for us.
After proper healing time you come back to our office and we restore the implant with a crown, bridge or removable partial/denture.
You can have 1 implant or as many as needed placed to restore your mouth back to optimal health.
