Our practice has a long and distinguished history of serving families from the surrounding areas. In the 1950s, Dr. Arthur Dugoni (the first and only person in the United States or Canada to have a dental school named in his honor) started our practice. In 1960, Dr. Charles Bona took over when Dr. Dugoni went to graduate school in orthodontics. Dr. Bona took exceptional care of his patients for over 40 years.
The success of his practice was a testament to his gentle and caring approach to the children of our area. Dr. Bona met Dr. Kenny Tse in 2003 and they instantly felt a connection. They had similar views on the profession of pediatric dentistry which made the transition for both Dr. Bona and Dr. Kenny very easy. After retiring, Dr. Bona spent his free time showing Championship Mastiff dogs and sailing.
Dr. Kenny and Dr. Bona would have regular lunches and attended numerous continuing education courses together. Dr. Bona was a great mentor and friend to Dr. Kenny. Dr. Bona passed away in 2018 but his legacy will forever live on at Chompers Pediatric Dentistry.

Often called "laughing gas, " nitrous oxide is a very safe, mild sedative that will help your child remain relaxed during dental procedures.
We will give the sedation with the use of a "nose cone" which carries air (oxygen) mixed with the medication.
Your child will be asked to breathe through the nose, not the mouth, and will sense a faint, sweet smell.
The sedation will take effect in about 5 minutes.
The nose cone will remain in place until the procedure is done.
Your child will be awake during the entire procedure and may have a "happy" feeling.

At Chompers Pediatric Dentistry our office is designed just for children.
We have an open hygiene area for your children when it's time for their checkup.
Each chair has a TV and headphones to help children relax while they get their teeth cleaned and examined.
For our older patients we have a separate area that we call our "teen side" that features traditional chairs but still with TVs above the chairs and headphones.
Our open bay allows us to utilize the "tell, show, do theory".
Children are able to watch other patients getting their teeth cleaned and can see that they are fine and that there is nothing to be afraid of.

Each of our private treatment rooms has a comfortable chair for parents to sit in while their children have their dental procedures performed.
We use these rooms for fillings, extractions and most other treatments that are not cleanings.
We sometimes use these rooms for exams on our youngest patients (1-2 years of age) and also occasionally use these rooms for some patients with special needs.
