Facial implants are available for reconstructive or cosmetic purposes.
They are available in a wide range of sizes and styles for the jaw, nose, cheek and chin.
Facial implants add and or restore facial symmetry and balance features to enhance facial proportionality.
Facial implant procedures usually take between thirty minutes and up to two hours and are usually performed at the surgeon's office or an outpatient surgical center.
All facial implant procedures follow similar surgical patterns.
Under general or local anesthesia, the surgeon makes an incision near where the implant will be placed, a pocket is made in the facial tissue, the implant inserted, and the incision stitched.
Cheek implant or cheek augmentation surgery can be both reconstructive and or cosmetic.
As with most elective surgeries, insurance will not cover procedures performed for cosmetic purposes.
The main purpose of this surgery is to build a better profile, to emphasize the cheeks on your face.
Malar, submalar and combined are the three common shapes.
The most popular is malar, which is placed directly on the cheekbone.
Submalar implants are placed midface to reduce the sunken cheek look.
The combined cheek implant is used to both augment the cheek bone and to enhance the mid face.
Nose implant surgery can be both reconstructive and or cosmetic.
If reconstructive, your insurance company will cover most if not all the costs associated with your surgery, however, they will not cover the cost, if it is purely cosmetic.
Nose is the main feature of the face.
Most of us are self-conscious of the form and shape of our nose as to too huge, too small, too beaky or too squat etc.
The characteristic shape and form of the nose is genetically transmitted from parents to their offspring and develops throughout the lifecycle.
Calf implants are sought to achieve fullness and size in the lower leg region.
This procedure is usually needed after an injury in which normal exercise by the patient cannot achieve the desired results.
Calf implants are placed on top of the medial and or lateral gastrocnemius muscle through an incision behind the knee.
Depending on your anatomy, the surgeon may decide to place two small calf implants on each gastrocnemius muscles or one large one over both.
The calf implant surgery is performed under general or local anesthesia and takes between 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Bicep and tricep implants are sought to achieve fullness and size in the upper arm region.
These procedures are usually needed after an injury in which normal exercise by the patient cannot achieve the desired results.
Bicep implants and tricep implants are placed through an incision on the upper arm and carefully secured under the Bicep or Tricep muscles.
This implant surgery is performed under general anesthesia and takes between 1 1/2 to 2 hours to undergo.
You can expect moderate pain for the first two days, while getting instantaneous results.
