We strive for excellence in everything we do and are committed to making your child's first dental visit a fun and comfortable one. We understand the importance of establishing a good oral hygiene regimen early in a child's life, and we provide children with the necessary knowledge and treatment to maintain a healthy smile. Our practice strives to make this new journey for your child a healthy, positive and rewarding experience.

Parents are welcome during treatment and become participants in the development of healthy dental habits that will last a lifetime. Just as a pediatrician develops special talents, skills and knowledge for working with children, a pediatric dentist more effectively care for the dental needs of young people. Pediatric dentistry is an age-defined specialty that provides both preventive and therapeutic dental care for infants, children and adolescents.

What is a Pediatric Dentist?
Pediatric dentists are the pediatricians of dentistry.
After completing dental school, we are further trained for the unique dental health needs of children.
Our specialized education consists of child psychology, growth and development, management of oral-facial trauma, sedation and general anesthesia.
Peninsula Pediatric Dentistry is designed to help children feel at home and comfortable, and our experienced dental staff is trained to respond to the special concerns and needs of our patients.
We enjoy visiting with children to teach them about good nutrition, proper brushing and flossing techniques and familiarize them with what they may expect when they visit the dentist.
Children's Dental Office and Orthodontics offers a fun, interactive and engaging program!
We encourage student participation and provide each student with a "Goodie Bag" of educational materials.
We can visit your school or day care.
We bring items from our office to familiarize the children with them in a "show and tell" format.
We strive to make each and every visit to our office a positive experience!
Whether this is your child's first visit to a dentist or this is your first visit in our office, it is important that your child feel comfortable and begin developing a trusting rapport with Dr. Rob and our staff.
The first visit is designed to gain your child's confidence and trust.
Each child is unique; we understand their curiosity and apprehension and give each patient individualized attention.
Everything is carefully explained and each child participates in activities designed to help build their self-confidence.
What is dental caries?
Dental caries is an infectious disease process that causes tooth decay or "cavities."
If untreated, caries can lead to severe pain, local infection, tooth loss, and even serious systemic infections.
Babies typically are inoculated or "catch" dental caries from their parents.
For this reason, it is important that parents attend to their own dental needs, striving to have excellent dental hygiene and, therefore, helping to prevent problems with their children's teeth.
Here is what is happening in your child's mouth: Teeth, which are primarily made of minerals, are in a constant state of back-and-forth de-mineralization and re-mineralization.
