In 1992 he graduated from Homer High School and earned the highest rank in Boy Scouts of America: the Eagle Scout.
In 1996 he graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology.
The following four years he attended dental school at Case Western Reserve University and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in May of 2000.
