Your child's dental health is very important to us, and we offer same-day appointments for any patient in pain. Dental health involves much more than, generally provided - it involves caring. At Pediatric Dental Clinic in Cliffside Park and ABA Pediatric Dental in Jersey City we work hand in hand with national and local organizations, and agencies to advance dental health of our kids.

Children's dental health requires much more than a toothbrush. Parents and other early-life caregivers play an integral role on how healthy their children's mouth will be throughout lifetime.

We suppose there are a couple of reasons for this sentiment and they are what make us special.

A pulpotomy treatment is necessary when the pulp chamber in the center of a baby tooth becomes infected.
This can occur if the tooth has untreated tooth decay and where the decay gets close to the pulp chamber or even penetrates it.
When this occurs, the tissue in the pulp chamber will become irritated and inflamed and it's likely your child will have toothache.
Without treatment, the inflammation and infection will continue to spread, eventually resulting in an abscess.
A pulpotomy treatment is used to try to save and restore the tooth.
Our pediatric dentists will do everything possible to save baby teeth from extraction but sometimes it may be necessary to remove a tooth.
This could be due to dental trauma or disease, or as part of orthodontic treatment.
While we do our best to save baby teeth, our primary concern is to ensure the adult tooth which is forming underneath the baby tooth is not damaged in any way.
If there is a risk the baby tooth may adversely affect the adult tooth then we will recommend its removal.
We will need to extract a tooth if it is significantly decayed and cannot be restored with either a filling or a crown.
If your child has a cavity then it is important to remove the area of tooth decay and to fill the tooth as soon as possible.
This prevents the tooth decay from spreading further and the filing seals out bacteria, preventing the tooth from becoming re-infected.
Amalgam is an extremely strong and reliable filling material and it has been successfully used for more than 100 years.
It is very good for repairing cavities in back teeth as these are not visible when a child smiles.
The back teeth are exposed to stronger chewing forces and amalgam can be used to fill even quite large cavities in kids.
